New Build

Dorset Farmhouse

A new farmhouse required the marriage between modern building techniques and traditional stonework.

This development on the edge of Wiltshire required 300 square yards of local Chicksgrove rubble walling and 1000 cubic feet of worked Chicksgrove. All the stone details were designed by the architect with cornprehensive consultation with Wells Cathedral Stonemasons, so as to overcome features of modern buildings, such as DPCs, cavities etc. The stone was supplied and fixed to suit the building programme of the main contractors.
