Basingstoke Clock

Wells Cathedral Stonemasons undertook major restoration work on St. Michael's Church, Basingstoke. Part of the restoration of the tower was the clock. The 6ft slate clock face was removed in fifty pieces and glued together with a steel support frame and re-gold-leafed.

The restored clock was then reinstalled within a new tracery window in Chicksgrove stone. Wells Cathedral Stonemasons also undertook extensive repairs and replacement of Ashlar and string courses.
