A World Heritage site such as Blenheim Palace and a stone type we had not worked before gave us a very exciting contract indeed.
The four chimneystacks on the stable block at Blenheim were very badly eroded. Much of the stone needed to be renewed; indeed one whole stack was replaced. The stone used was quarried reasonably local to the Palace: Stanleys from the Cotswolds. Over 450 cubic feet of the stone was used in the repair and it was all finished with a rubbed surface.
