Marc Pate, who completed his apprenticeship in September, was named as Runner-up in the Stone Federation of Great Britain's 'Trainee Mason of the Year Award' at the National Stone Awards last month. In addition to this tremendous achievement, Marc is also one of three stonemasons short listed to represent the UK at WorldSkills 2009 in Calgary, Canada next Autumn, and is presently undertaking 10 weeks of intensive training over the next 6 months. Marc follows in the footsteps of previous WCS apprentices Phil Parry (Montreal 1999) and Ryan Brunt (Taiwan 1993, Bronze Medal and now Production Director).
